training information:
Training Target
  • Understanding of main principles used in UMTS
  • Understanding of signalling in UTRAN (Uu, Iub, Iur, Iu-CS, Iu-PS, Iu-BC)
  • Students learn to analyse signalling and use it for solving problems
Who Should Attend
  • Persons who need to understand access network functionality in UMTS in more detail.
Prerequisites
  • Understanding of GPRS signalling (e.g. Course “Signalling in the GPRS Network” from our course list)
Content
  • Signalling as a control mechanism for the network
  • Basic principles of signalling and protocol structure
  • Information to be exchanged on particular interfaces
  • Protocols used in the UMTS network - tasks of the protocols, messages, parameters and procedures
  • Complete signalling procedures explained on real signalling traces: Mobile Originating / Terminating Call; Data transfer; Handover; SRNC Reallocation
  • Real signalling traces - how to solve problems using signalling analysis
Training Environment
  • Max. 12 students per course
  • Training materials are provided
  • The course may be adapted in content according to customer needs, adaptations not requiring modification of training materials are provided at no extra charge (-C,-S)
  • Additional after-class consultation and discussion following each course day's training are provided free of charge
  • Lunch and refreshment are provided for courses held at Trainingpoint facilities (-C, -O)
  • Lunch and refreshment are provided by customers for courses held at their facilities (-S)
